3 years agoTampa Bay Rays right-hander Shane Baz (elbow) will start his minor league rehab assignment on Thursday with Triple-A Durham, and he is slated to throw two innings. Baz had arthroscopic surgery on his elbow in March and has been rehabbing ever since. The 22-year-old, who is the team's top prospect according to MLB Pipeline, will need multiple rehab outings before the Rays feel comfortable having him make his season debut. Fantasy managers should already have him stashed, though, after he posted an impressive 2.03 ERA and 0.68 WHIP with 18 strikeouts in his first 13 1/3 major league innings in 2021. Baz will be eligible to return from the injured list on June 6.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
