Edmundo Sosa Out, Tommy Edman Back In Thursday
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals shortstop Edmundo Sosa (ankle) is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the New York Mets. Sosa left the game early on Wednesday with an ankle injury. He got the start at the 6 with Tommy Edman battling a sore calf, but Edman is at second base and batting leadoff on Thursday against Mets right-hander Chris Bassitt. Brendan Donovan is starting at shortstop and is hitting in the two-hole. Sosa is hitting just .220 with no home runs, one RBI and a stolen base in 16 games this year, and he's mostly middle infield depth with both Edman and Donovan healthy. Edman is hitting .269 with four home runs, 18 RBI, 25 runs scored and a league-high nine stolen bases this year, so he needs to be returned to all starting fantasy lineups.
