Evan White Starts Rehab Assignment
3 years agoSeattle Mariners first baseman Evan White (hernia) began a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday. He was diagnosed with a sports hernia during spring training and had surgery on March 30, which has prevented him from playing so far in 2022. The 26-year-old will have a lengthy rehab assignment because of how long he's been out, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect a hasty return to the big leagues. White should see at least semi-regular at-bats between first base and designated hitter once he's activated from the 60-day injured list. In 84 games for Seattle the last two seasons, White has hit just .165/.235/.308 with 10 home runs, 35 RBI and 27 runs scored in 306 plate appearances.
