3 years agoSan Diego Padres manager Bob Melvin is set to rejoin the team on Friday for the start of a road series against the division-rival San Francisco Giants. Melvin had successful prostate surgery last Wednesday and has been resting up since. The 60-year-old skipper will take his job back after Ryan Christensen held the team together on a tough road trip in Melvin's absence. No cancer was found during the surgery, which is great news for Melvin and the Padres. The Padres went 4-2 against the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies, and Christensen also went 2-1 to finish their prior homestand.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
