Luis Gonzalez Headed Back To The Majors?
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Luis Gonzalez was a late scratch from Triple-A Sacramento's lineup and was seen clearing out his locker on Thursday night, a strong indication that he's being promoted back to the majors, according to sources familiar with the situation. The 26-year-old was surprisingly optioned earlier this week after hitting .349/.397/.492 with two home runs and 15 RBI in 21 games. Gonzalez has only played in 30 big-league games, but he's slashed .333/.407/.486 with three stolen bases in 86 plate appearances. It remains to be seen if Gonzalez will play regularly if he returns to the major league roster, but fantasy managers in deeper leagues should probably add him regardless if he's available on the waiver wire.
