Clayton Kershaw Weeks Away From A Bullpen Session
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (pelvis) is probably "a couple weeks away" from throwing a bullpen session, according to manager Dave Roberts. The 34-year-old left-hander was placed on the injured list and received an epidural injection for his inflammation in his right SI joint. Kershaw couldn't throw a bullpen session on Wednesday, and the Dodgers won't rush him back onto the mound. With the delay in the his throwing program, the future Hall of Famer is unlikely to return now until the end of June. It's a shame, too, since he was 4-0 with a 1.80 ERA, 0.73 WHIP, three walks and 32 strikeouts in 30 innings over five starts before his injury. The Dodgers biggest priority is having Kershaw available late in the season, so fantasy managers will have to be patient.
