3 years agoThe Detroit Tigers officially placed left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez (rib cage) on the 15-day injured list on Sunday with a left rib-cage sprain and recalled right-hander Elvin Rodriguez from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move. Elvin Rodriguez is scheduled to start on Monday against the Minnesota Twins. E-Rod's move to the IL is retroactive to May 19. He was pulled from his last start on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays with left side discomfort, and the Tigers knew then that the 29-year-old southpaw would require a stint on the injured list. There is no timetable for Rodriguez's return to Detroit's starting rotation. Before the injury, he had a 4.38 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, 17 walks and 34 strikeouts in 39 innings over eight starts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
