Alex Verdugo Not Starting Sunday
3 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo (illness) is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners. Verdugo left the game on Saturday with an illness and will take the day off on Sunday. With the Red Sox having an off day on Monday, fantasy managers will hope the 26-year-old can return on Tuesday for the series opener against the Chicago White Sox. Franchy Cordero is starting in left field and is batting sixth on Sunday against Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert. Cordero is still searching for his first home run of the season, and he has only three RBI and 10 runs scored in 54 plate appearances for the BoSox on the season.
