3 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals placed catcher Yadier Molina on the bereavement list on Monday and recalled catcher Ivan Herrera from Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move. With Molina out for at least the next three days, Andrew Knizner will operate as the Cardinals primary backstop. Molina is slashing .239/.239/.337 with only two home runs, eight RBI, nine runs scored and one stolen base in 26 games so far in 2022. The 10-time All-Star isn't nearly the force offensively that he was in the prime of his career. In 70 plate appearances this year, Knizner is batting .262/.357/.361 with a homer, 10 RBI and five runs scored over 23 games played.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
