Connor Overton Out 6-8 Weeks With Back Injury
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Connor Overton (shoulder) will be out for six to eight weeks after an MRI exam revealed a stress reaction in his lower back. Overton had been pitching through the injury and had allowed only five earned runs on 15 hits while walking seven and striking out 10 in his four starts for the Reds over 24 2/3 innings. The 28-year-old was scratched from his scheduled start against the Toronto Blue Jays over the weekend. He wasn't extremely attractive to fantasy managers because of his low strikeout rate in limited action, especially while pitching for the lowly Reds. Overton won't be an option again for Cincy's rotation until after the All-Star break in July.
