Zach Davies Injures Leg Monday
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Zach Davies (leg) left his outing on Monday against the Kansas City Royals with a right lower leg contusion. Third baseman Drew Ellis also left the contest early with right side discomfort. Davis took a line drive off his leg and limped off with trainers. Before he left the game, the 29-year-old allowed four earned runs on eight hits while walking two and striking out two over 3 2/3 innings. It's unknown if Davies will be able to make his next scheduled start. The soft-tossing right-hander isn't much use in traditional fantasy leagues, as he's sporting a 4.81 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with 17 walks and 32 strikeouts in 43 innings pitched over nine starts this season.
