Cowboys Wide Receiver Room Facing Minor Injuries At OTAs
2 years agoDuring Wednesday's OTA session, the Dallas Cowboys were without two of their new wide receivers, James Washington and rookie Jalen Tolbert. Washington was seen wearing a boot on the sideline, though the 26-year-old said it wasn't anything that would keep him out of action for long and that he could return to practice next week. Washington recently signed with the Cowboys on a one-year contract after four years with the Steelers and had no known injuries when the move was made. Tolbert was seen working on resistance cord exercises with the director of rehabilitation Britt Brown instead of participating in team drills. In speaking with the media, head coach Mike McCarthy stated, "We just played it smart," so there doesn't appear to be any long-term concern at this time. However, it is worth noting that wide receiver Michael Gallup is expected to miss the first few games of the season as he recovers from an ACL injury. After already losing wide receivers Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson, the Cowboys need to have healthy depth behind CeeDee Lamb entering the year.
