Ronald Acuna Jr. Won't Play Friday
3 years agoAtlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (quadriceps) will not play again on Friday against the Miami Marlins, according to manager Brian Snitker. Acuna will miss his third straight game with a strained quadriceps, and it remains to be seen if this will be an injury that puts him on the injured list. The 24-year-old superstar outfielder continues to be plagued by lower-body injuries this year after getting a late start to the campaign while recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in 2021. Guillermo Heredia should continue to start in Atlanta's outfield until Acuna returns from his quad injury. Acuna has been his usual elite self in his 17 games, slashing .292/.400/.446 with an .846 OPS, two home runs, eight RBI, 10 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 80 plate appearances.
