Jahmai Jones Has Tommy John Surgery
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles second baseman/outfielder Jahmai Jones (elbow) underwent successful Tommy John surgery on his right elbow on Friday, according to the team. The procedure was performed by Dr. Timothy Kremchek in Cincinnati. Jones initially went on the injured list in the minor leagues in the middle of May due to right elbow inflammation, and he'll now miss the rest of the 2022 season. The 24-year-old, who is the Orioles No. 22 prospect per MLB Pipeline, played in 27 games for Triple-A Norfolk before his injury and was hitting .212/.339/.343 with two home runs, seven RBI, 15 runs scored and two stolen bases in 118 plate appearances. In 26 games for Baltimore in 2021, Jones hit .149 with no homers, three RBI and a stolen base.
