2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) remains on the roster. It's been continuously reported that the veteran would be on the move. Yet, after having surgery on his throwing shoulder, interest from other clubs fizzled. There have also been rumblings regarding Trey Lance's lack of progress, which seemed to keep the door open for Garoppolo to be the team's starter this season. However, according to new quarterbacks coach Brian Griese, Garoppolo hasn't had any contact with him. Nonetheless, there's still a chance Garoppolo stays in the Bay Area for the 2022-23 campaign. But considering he's coming off surgery and hasn't spoken with Griese, it appears Lance is the current favorite to be under center moving ahead.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
