2 years agoThe Chicago Cubs placed left-hander Wade Miley (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list on Sunday with a left shoulder strain and recalled pitcher Mark Leiter Jr. from the minors in a corresponding move. Miley, 35, has pitched well in his three starts for the Cubs this year, going 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP while walking seven and striking out 10 in 16 innings pitched. However, he'll return to the injured list after getting a late start to the season due to injury. The soft-tossing southpaw induces a lot of weak contact and can be a back-end fantasy starter in deeper leagues, but he lacks upside with a career K/9 of just 7.1 in 12 major league seasons.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
