Royce Lewis Diagnosed With Bone Bruise
2 years agoMinnesota Twins shortstop Royce Lewis (knee) has been diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right knee after he was injured on Sunday. The team wants to wait a few days for the swelling to go down before they re-evaluate him. Skipper Rocco Baldelli said that Lewis will likely require a trip to the injured list, but the Twins will wait a few days to make that call. The 22-year-old former first-rounder has been excelling in a super-utility role for Minnesota in the first 12 games of his major league career, as he's hitting .300/.317/.550 with two home runs and five RBI in 41 plate appearances. It remains to be seen if Lewis will remain with the big club when he's healed from his injury, but he should remain stashed in AL-only leagues.
