Byron Buxton Getting The Day Off Monday
2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is not in the starting lineup on Monday against the Detroit Tigers. Buxton started the last two games, but the Twins will continue to give him regular days off in order to keep the oft-injured outfielder healthy. The 28-year-old is hitting just .205 (26-for-127) with a .287 on-base percentage, but he's a must-start when in the lineup because of his power (11 home runs) and speed. Buxton has also chipped in 21 RBI and 25 runs scored in 33 games played. Nick Gordon is in center field and is batting eighth on Monday against Tigers right-hander Beau Brieske. Gordon is a low-upside DFS play who is hitting .271/.300/.385 with a homer, six RBI and one stolen base on the year in 36 games.
