2 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays placed shortstop Wander Franco (quadriceps) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a right quadriceps strain and selected the contract of right-hander Shawn Armstrong from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move. The team also designated left-hander Ben Bowden for assignment. Franco had to leave the game early on Monday against the Texas Rangers, and now he'll be out for at least the next 10 days. The talented 21-year-old was slashing .270/.305/.421 with four home runs, 19 RBI, 27 runs scored and four stolen bases in 45 games for the Rays. He needs to be stashed everywhere. With Franco on the shelf, Taylor Walls should see most of the playing time at shortstop.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
