Tommy Pham Scratched Tuesday
2 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Tommy Pham (calf), who was set to return from a three-game suspension on Tuesday, was scratched from the starting lineup due to left calf discomfort. Nick Senzel, who was originally scheduled for a day off, will now start in center field and bat third against Boston Red Sox right-hander Michael Wacha. Pham has been in the news of late after a pre-game altercation with San Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson last week. The 34-year-old has some modest power and speed but is hitting just .233 (35-for-150) this year with five homers and 17 RBI for the Reds. Senzel is hitting just over the Mendoza Line with a homer and five RBI in 24 games, but he's batting .273 (6-for-27) in the last seven days.
