Alcides Escobar Exits Early With Leg Injury
2 years agoWashington Nationals shortstop Alcides Escobar (leg) exited Tuesday's game against the New York Mets early with an apparent leg injury. The 35-year-old sustained the injury while making a diving play at shortstop in the He went 0-for-1 before leaving. Dee Strange-Gordon shifted from left field to shortstop while Lane Thomas entered the game as Escobar's replacement. The severity of Escobar's injury is unknown at this time, and he is considered day-to-day. Gordon will handle shortstop duties and is expected to see an uptick in at-bats if Escobar misses any time.
