2 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (ankle) took batting practice on the field before Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels, and the Yankees are encouraged that he could come off the injured list later this week. The 32-year-old slugger also took part in a light running workout on Tuesday, so he's on the cusp of returning from right ankle inflammation. It sounds like Stanton could have a brief minor league rehab assignment before potentially returning to the lineup by this Saturday. He should be stashed in all fantasy leagues, as he was hitting an excellent .285/.339/.523 with an .862 OPS, 11 home runs, 35 RBI and 15 runs scored in 40 games before he landed on the injured list.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
