Brian Flores Boosting Steelers Defense At OTAs
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach Brian Flores appears to be making an immediate impact at OTAs. "He's a bulldog," strong safety Terrell Edmunds said. "You can tell by just the way he talks that he has a military mentality and wants everything to be on point and not letting anybody slack off. We need that. We need that in the back end, we need that with the linebackers for the communication." After surprisingly being fired by the Miami Dolphins and subsequently filing a class-action lawsuit against the NFL alleging racial discrimination in hiring processes, Flores was brought in by the Steelers to help address a defense that was uncharacteristically bad against the run last year. They allowed a league-worst 146.1 rushing yards per game, presenting an enticing matchup for just about any opposing running back in fantasy. Early indications suggest Flores may help them get back to the physicality we have seen in previous seasons.
