3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder/infielder Chris Taylor will be looking forward to the calendar turning over to June as much as any player. In May, Taylor put up a slash line of .229/.321/.448 in 96 at-bats with four home runs, 13 RBI and 37 strikeouts (40.2% strikeout rate). While Taylor is doing a good job of not chasing pitches (89th percentile in chase rate) and barreling balls (78th percentile in barrel rate), the veteran is not doing enough in terms of putting balls in play. Taylor ranks in the first percentile in whiff rate, the third percentile in strikeout rate and the 11th percentile in xBA. For the Dodgers to get back to the World Series in October, Taylor will need to find a way to put the ball in play more and stop striking out at the rate that he is currently at. Taylor should be looked at as a bench player in standard leagues currently.--JasonHirsch
