Jean Segura Goes On Injured List
2 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies placed second baseman Jean Segura (finger) on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with a fracture of his right index finger and recalled left-hander Cristopher Sanchez and infielder Nick Maton from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in corresponding moves. Outfielder Roman Quinn was also designated for assignment. X-rays revealed that Segura fractured his finger while attempting a bunt on Tuesday night. The 32-year-old will almost certainly be out for longer than 10 days, and he'll leave behind a .275/.324/.407 slash line with six homers, 19 RBI, 22 steals and eight stolen bases. Keep him stashed everywhere. In his absence, Bryson Stott and Johan Camargo should see most of the middle-infield work. Maton is starting at the 6 and is batting ninth on Wednesday against San Francisco Giants left-hander Carlos Rodon.
