Sonny Gray Plays Catch, Uncertain For Next Start
2 years agoMinnesota Twins pitcher Sonny Gray (pectoral) has improved and played catch on Wednesday, but his status for his next start is in question. According to Twins manager Rocco Baldelli, there is a chance Gray avoids the injured list. "May end up even having to make a decision that we don't really want to make in order to function better as a team," said Baldelli. The 32-year-old exited last Sunday's start with right pectoral soreness. If Gray can significantly improve during the week, the Twins right-hander could avoid the injured list. He owns a 3-1 record, 2.41 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 39 strikeouts across 33 2/3 innings. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation and expect Gray back this weekend at the earliest.
