2 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez (rib cage), who has been on the injured list since May 22 with a left rib-cage sprain, is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment next week for Triple-A Toledo. The 29-year-old left-hander has already thrown off the mound once and is expected to throw off a mound again at Yankee Stadium. If he avoids any setbacks, he'll toss three to four innings for Toledo next week. After signing with the Tigers on a five-year, $77 million deal in November, E-Rod posted a 4.38 ERA with 17 walks and 34 strikeouts over 39 innings in his first eight starts before landing on the injured list.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
