Riley Greene To Play Fifth Rehab Game Friday
2 years agoDetroit Tigers outfield prospect Riley Greene (foot) went 0-for-3 with a walk and strikeout in his second rehab game for Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday, and the 21-year-old is scheduled to play in his fifth rehab game on Friday since returning from a fractured right foot. "He's still on a little bit of predetermined ramp to regular activity," skipper A.J. Hinch said. In his four games with Toledo and Single-A Lakeland, Greene has gone 3-for-13 with no homers, two RBI, no runs and a stolen base. Greene was on track to make the Opening Day roster before his foot injury, and he figures to have a good chance of earning starting center field duties in Detroit by season's end. He is the No. 2 overall prospect in the game, per MLB Pipeline, and should be stashed in deep mixed leagues.
