Wil Myers Remains Out Thursday
2 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers (knee) remains out of the starting lineup on Thursday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Myers received a gel injection in his inflamed right knee after Tuesday's game, and although the injury isn't considered serious, he'll miss another game. The 31-year-old has been pretty disappointing for the Padres and fantasy managers alike so far this year, as he's hitting just .234/.276/.306 with one home run, 19 RBI and 13 runs scored in 134 plate appearances over 32 games. Nomar Mazara, who was just called up from the minors on Thursday, is starting in right field and is hitting sixth against Brewers right-hander Adrian Houser. The 27-year-old will be making his 2022 season debut in the big leagues after tearing the cover off the ball at Triple-A El Paso for a .367 average, seven home runs and 27 RBI in 35 games.
