3 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Seth Brown is currently slumping extremely hard. So far in 2022, Brown is slashing just .204/.276/.401 with a weighted runs created plus (wRC+) of 97 (Major League Baseball average is 100) over 163 plate appearances. While Brown does have a career-high hard-hit rate of 41.2%, Brown also ranks in the 41st percentile in chase rate, leading to 41 strikeouts. For Brown to maintain his starting job with the rebuilding Athletics, the 29-year-old will need to do a better job staying disciplined at the plate. Brown is 3-for-17 with no home runs over the last week, so you can survive with Brown on your bench against Jose Urquidy and the Astros on Friday.--JasonHirsch
