Brandon Belt Begins Running Progression
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (knee) remains back in San Francisco and is starting a running progression on Friday. The earliest he could probably return would be next Tuesday. Belt has been out since May 18 with right knee inflammation, and he'll likely need a minor league rehab assignment before he comes off the injured list. The 34-year-old has dealt with knee issues in the past, so it's something that could plague him the rest of the year. Before landing on the injured list, Belt was hitting only .228/.342/.386 with four home runs, 11 RBI, 14 runs scored and one stolen base in 120 plate appearances over 26 games.
