2 years agoThe San Diego Padres placed outfielder Wil Myers (knee) on the 10-day injured list on Friday with right knee inflammation. The move is retroactive to June 1. In a corresponding move, the team recalled outfielder Brent Rooker from Triple-A El Paso. Myers hasn't played since May 31 and will now miss at least the next 10 days. He's been a disappointment at the plate for the Padres this year, hitting .234/.276/.306 with one home run, 19 RBI and 13 runs scored in 134 plate appearances. With Myers now on the shelf, Nomar Mazara, who was called up from the minors on Thursday, should see semi-regular playing time in right field against right-handed pitchers. Mazara had a hit in two at-bats in his first game with the Friars on Thursday after tearing the cover off the ball at El Paso earlier this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
