Max Scherzer Downplays Hand Injury
2 years agoNew York Mets pitcher Max Scherzer said that his rehab wouldn't be delayed after being bitten by one of his dogs on his right hand. He took one day off from throwing and could long toss the next day. "This will have no effect on my rehab, and this is literally a non-story," said Scherzer. The 37-year-old has been sidelined since May 18 due to an oblique strain. He is progressing in his recovery and could come off the injured list in early July. Scherzer is 5-1 with a 2.54 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 59 strikeouts, and 11 walks in 49 2/3 innings in 2022. Stay tuned for further updates.
