2 years agoFree-agent left-hander Dallas Keuchel signed a minor league deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday. Keuchel was designated for assignment and ultimately released by the Chicago White Sox in late May after going 2-5 with a 7.88 ERA, 2.16 WHIP, 20 strikeouts and 20 walks in 32 innings over eight starts. He will initially report to Triple-A Reno, but the 34-year-old southpaw could have a shot to join Arizona's rotation at some point if he pitches well and shows better control on the mound. Keuchel will be reunited with pitching coach Brent Strom, whom he worked with for five years as a member of the Houston Astros.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
