2 years agoToronto Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said that catcher Danny Jansen (hand) is "fine" after being hit by a pitch on his left hand in the eighth inning on Monday against the Kansas City Royals. Jansen finished off the game behind the plate and is undergoing precautionary X-rays to make sure there's no structural damage in his hand. It doesn't mean that Jansen will be back in the lineup on Tuesday, but it looks like he's avoided a serious injury. The 27-year-old is hitting just .232 with a .290 on-base percentage in 56 at-bats this year for Toronto, but he does have seven home runs, 13 RBI and nine runs scored.
