Darrell Henderson Jr. Dealing With Soft-Tissue Injury
2 years agoLos Angeles Rams running back Darrell Henderson Jr. hasn't been on the field at practices with what head coach Sean McVay called a soft-tissue injury. Rookie running back Kyren Williams is also missing mandatory minicamp due to a broken foot. With both Henderson and Williams dealing with injuries, Jake Funk should get more repetitions at minicamp behind Cam Akers. Henderson has plenty of time to heal up for training camp in late July, and he should serve as the primary complement to Akers in LA's backfield this year. In 12 games for the Rams in 2021, Henderson had a career-high 149 carries for 688 yards and five touchdowns, and he also added 29 receptions for 176 yards and three more scores. He'll be a valuable handcuff for those that roster Akers.
