2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox placed second baseman/outfielder Enrique Hernandez (hip) on the injured list on Wednesday with a right hip flexor strain and recalled Jonathan Arauz from the minors in a corresponding move. Hernandez needs to take some time off after trying to play through his hip injury recently. It has likely affected his performance at the plate, as he's hitting just .209/.273/.340 with four home runs, 24 RBI and 27 runs scored in 238 plate appearances and 51 games so far in 2021. He's gone 13-for-55 (.236) with two homers and five RBI in the last two weeks. Christian Arroyo, who is hitting leadoff against Los Angeles Angels left-hander Reid Detmers on Wednesday, should see more playing time in the outfield with Hernandez on the shelf.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
