Khalil Lee Called Up By Mets
2 years agoThe New York Mets recalled outfielder Khalil Lee from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, giving the team some more depth with both first baseman Pete Alonso and outfielder Starling Marte injured. Lee was demoted from Syracuse to High-A St. Lucie last month because he was struggling so badly. After a week retooling his swing, he returned to Syracuse and hit .311/.414/.623 with four home runs and 19 RBI in his last 19 games. In 11 games with the Mets last year, Lee went 1-for-18 with 13 strikeouts. If one of Alonso or Marte need to go on the injured list, Lee could stick around for a while as an extra bat off the bench for the Mets.
