2 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Chad Pinder (neck) is out of the starting lineup on Thursday against the Cleveland Guardians due to neck stiffness. However, manager Mark Kotsay said Pinder will be available off the bench, so his injury doesn't sound overly serious. Pinder had been in the starting lineup in each of the team's last six games, but he'll start on the bench Thursday. In his absence, Tony Kemp is getting the start in left field and is batting leadoff against Guardians left-hander Konnor Pilkington. Kemp will see extra at-bats in the leadoff spot, but he's gone just 3-for-16 (.188) with no home runs and an RBI in five games over the last week, and he has just one homer and nine RBI on the year in 53 games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
