2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff (ankle) threw off a mound for the first time on Thursday in St. Louis since spraining his ankle on May 27. However, manager Craig Counsell said that Woodruff's progress has been slowed by Raynaud's syndrome, a circulation issues in his right fingers. The good news is that the right-hander got back on a mound on Thursday, but it remains to be seen how Raynaud's syndrome will affect Woodruff's performance moving forward. He remains without a timetable to return from the injured list, and he'll almost certainly need a minor league rehab stint before he returns to Milwaukee's rotation. Before spraining his ankle, the 29-year-old had a disappointing 4.74 ERA and 1.24 WHIP while striking out 53 and walking 13 in 43 2/3 frames over his nine starts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
