Heston Kjerstad Set To Make Pro Debut In Single-A
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles outfield prospect Heston Kjerstad (hamstring, heart) has been activated from the minor league injured list and will play in his first professional game on Friday for Low-A Delmarva. The second overall pick in 2020 didn't play at all last year due to a heart condition called myocarditis, but Baseball America still has the 23-year-old ranked as the team's No. 10 prospect. A severe left hamstring strain on March 11 caused him to get a late start to the 2022 season. Kjerstad will rest regularly as he recovers from the hamstring injury, but it's good to see him finally getting back into game action. He hit .343/.421/.590 with 37 home runs in 150 games over three seasons at Arkansas.
