2 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals activated outfielder Dylan Carlson (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list on Friday and optioned outfielder Lars Nootbaar to Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move. Carlson went 5-for-13 with a home run, four RBI and four runs scored in four minor league rehab games with Double-A Springfield and Memphis, and he should return to an everyday role in St. Louis' outfield now that he's back. The 23-year-old got off to a terrible start for the Cardinals this year and was demoted from the leadoff spot quickly, but he was much better in May, hitting .314/.351/.486 with an .837 OPS, two home runs and seven RBI in 20 games.
