2 years agoBoston Red Sox right-hander Garrett Whitlock (hip) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday. Whitlock is dealing with inflammation in his right hip. The issue must have gotten worse throughout the day because manager Alex Cora initially told reporters that he didn't expect Whitlock to miss his scheduled start against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. The Red Sox have yet to announce their plans for who will be the new starter against Seattle on Sunday, but Cora hinted that a bullpen day could be in the plans, depending on how Friday's game goes.
