2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers placed second baseman Kolten Wong (calf) on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with a right calf strain and recalled infielder/outfielder Mark Mathias and right-hander Peter Strzelecki from Triple-A Nashville in corresponding moves. Right-hander Luke Barker was also optioned to Nashville. Wong had been out of the lineup since leaving Tuesday's game early with a sore calf. The IL placement is retroactive to Wednesday. Luis Urias had shifted over to the keystone with Wong out this week, but Mathias will get the start at the keystone and hit ninth on Saturday against Washington Nationals left-hander Patrick Corbin. Wong is hitting a disappointing .228 this year with five home runs, but he does have eight stolen bases in 180 at-bats.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
