Matt Chapman Dealing With Sore Wrist
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Matt Chapman (wrist) is dealing with wrist soreness. The injury explains why he wasn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Detroit Tigers and was unavailable to pinch-hit. The 29-year-old is considered day-to-day. Chapman will undergo further evaluation, but it's unclear if he will return Sunday for the series finale against Detroit. Santiago Espinal batted fifth and started at the hot corner while Chapman was sidelined. Espinal can be used as a streamer while wielding a hot bat. The 27-year-old is hitting .387 (12-for-31) with two home runs and six RBI over his last seven games.
