Starling Marte Remains Sidelined
2 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (quadriceps) will miss his third consecutive game while dealing with left quadriceps tightness. According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, Marte is feeling much better and probably could have played on Saturday, but the Mets aren't gambling with his health. The 33-year-old remains day-to-day. Marte is slashing .277/.316/.441 with seven home runs, 33 RBI, 36 runs scored, and eight stolen bases over 50 games in 2022. The veteran outfielder is close to returning and could be back in the lineup for the series finale against the Los Angeles Angels. Jeff McNeil will continue to handle right field duties while Marte is sidelined.
