2 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (groin) went 3-for-4 with a pair of homers, a double, three RBI, and three runs scored in Saturday's 11-6 win over the New York Mets. He left Saturday's contest after six innings but reportedly did not appear to be injured. The Angels built up a big lead and were up 8-0 at one point of the game. Trout was removed as the team felt there was no need to push the superstar outfielder in his first game back with a big lead. He returned to action on Saturday after missing the team's previous three games due to groin tightness. The 30-year-old slashing .294/.394/.642 with 16 home runs, 33 RBI, 42 runs scored, and five stolen bases over 218 plate appearances in 2022.
