2 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies selected the contract of infielder Yairo Munoz from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday night and optioned outfielder Mickey Moniak to Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move. The team also moved second baseman Jean Segura (finger) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL. Munoz earned the promotion by hitting three home runs and driving in eight with a 1.037 OPS in his last nine games, and he's played just about every position in the minors this year. He has slashed .319/.345/.799 on the year and is starting at second base and is batting eighth against Miami Marlins left-hander Trevor Rogers on Tuesday. The 27-year-old has hit .274 with 11 home runs, 59 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 213 career major league games over four seasons, and he could stick as a super-utility man in Philadelphia.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
