Max Scherzer Throwing On Flat Ground
2 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Max Scherzer (oblique) is throwing his pitches on flat ground from around 60 feet on Tuesday. Scherzer wasn't going 100 percent, but it's a positive development as he looks to return to the starting rotation from a high-grade left oblique strain. The 37-year-old was also bitten by one of his dogs recently, but his oblique is still very much the bigger concern. The eight-time All-Star and three-time Cy Young winner was 5-1 with a 2.54 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 59 strikeouts and 11 walks in 49 2/3 innings over eight starts before landing on the injured list. He still needs to get back on a mound and begin facing live hitters, but he's getting closer. Scherzer obviously needs to remain stashed in all fantasy formats.
