Brandon Lowe Shut Down Until Monday
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash said that second baseman Brandon Lowe (back) felt discomfort in his back again while swinging. His doctor isn't overly concerned, but Lowe will now be shut down until Monday to see if some rest does the trick. Lowe was initially shut down for three weeks due to a stress reaction in his lower back, and the Rays are hoping a little rest will get him back on track. The 27-year-old was hitting just .212/.293/.415 with five home runs, 12 RBI, 20 runs scored and a stolen base in 32 games before his injury, but hopefully he'll be back soon for Tampa. Vidal Brujan and Isaac Paredes have been splitting the playing time at the keystone with Lowe sidelined.
